At Thomco, we have two Zund plotter cutters that we can utilize to produce parts of all shapes and sizes. CAD cutting on our Zund machines allows us to produce parts in lower quantities than what is needed to be efficient on rotary die presses. It also allows us to cut materials up to 2" thick, including rigid materials. For parts that can't be done with rotary die cutting, but don't require the intricacy of laser cutting, CAD cutting is an extremely cost efficient method.
At Thomco, quality is at the forefront of everything we do. We are ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 registered and are a 3M Preferred converter. For you, this means we have quality controls in place to make sure your parts are within tolerance and packed and shipped exactly as you specify.
CAD cutting is another value-added capability Thomco has to supplement our other methods of cutting. When rotary die doesn't make sense, either because of the thickness or rigidity of the material, or because the required quantity is low, that's where CAD comes into play. It is less expensive than laser cutting, and allows us to handle those requirements that can't be done on rotary die presses but don't need intricate cuts or tight corner radii. CAD cutting also eliminates the need for tooling, saving you costs that are unnecessary for short production runs.
We have two Zund machines, both capable of various CAD cutting methods including drag knife, router, and oscillating blade. We can cut materials up to 2" thick, and we can accommodate wide width material that cannot be cut using our other methods. Often times, we will use our CAD cutting to create rapid prototypes without the tooling costs associated with rotary die cutting.
When producing CAD cut parts, we can finish on a sheet with one or multiple parts, or we can blank or stamp individual parts.
Do you have a need for a small production run of a few hundred parts? Is your material thick, even up to 2", or is it a rigid material? Does your part not require the intricate capabilities of laser cutting such as very small holes or very tight corner radii? If you answered yes, CAD may be the most efficient method. If not, take a look at our other converting services. We pride ourselves on our diverse mixture of capabilities and there isn't much we can't cut. If you need help determining if our capabilities can produce what you need, just ask us. We love a challenge and are looking forward to taking a look at your parts and solving your problems.
