Rotary Die Cutting

Rotary die cutting is a fast, economical method of die cutting custom-shaped parts. Our presses take a variety of roll-fed, flexible materials and convert them into cut parts with precision. Some of the common types of materials we can rotary die cut are tapes, foams, films, and tag stock.

We want to save you money, and we have several ways of doing just that. Our presses can utilize magnetic dies in many cases, saving you money on solid die tooling costs, and our engineers do an excellent job of nesting parts to maximize the value of the raw material and reduce waste as much as possible. Finally, our press operators have been with us for years and know how to navigate the job setup process to reduce downtime and material scrap.

At Thomco, quality is at the forefront of everything we do. We are ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 registered and are a 3M Preferred converter. For you, this means we have quality controls in place to make sure your parts are within tolerance and packed and shipped exactly as you specify.

Benefits of Rotary Die

Speed, precision, and cost-savings are what you can expect with rotary die cutting. Unlike flatbed die cutting where several layers of material are often stacked to create efficiency, rotary die cutting gains its efficiency due to its speed. Stacking several layers, especially if the material is not very dense, can lead to inconsistent cuts throughout the layers. With rotary die, you do not have to trade quality to gain efficiency.

Our Rotary Die Capabilities

We can work with a huge variety of roll-fed, flexible materials to produce parts up to 13" wide and 24" around. Our presses can combine several different materials, all in-line and in one process, to create multi-layer stackup parts with custom cuts. Whether you need a kiss cut, through-cut, perfs, or score lines, we have the equipment and the know-how to get it done.

Finishing Options

You aren't limited in terms of the way your parts are finished with rotary die cutting. You can have your parts on a roll, on a sheet - with one per sheet or many - or you can have individual stamped parts. We can create liner pull tabs for materials with adhesives and we can orient your parts on the roll or sheet however you like so that your application process is streamlined.

Is Rotary Die Cutting Right for Your Application?

Does your application call for a flexible material that is available in roll form? Do you need quantities in the thousands? Do your finished parts fall in the 13" x 24" dimension? If you answered yes, you'll love working with Thomco for rotary die cutting services. If not, take a look at our other converting services. We pride ourselves on our diverse mixture of capabilities and there isn't much we can't cut. If you need help determining if our capabilities can produce what you need, just ask us. We love a challenge and are looking forward to taking a look at your parts and solving your problems.
