Flexography is a method of printing that utilizes a system of rollers and plates to "stamp" ink to a substrate. Each plate represents a different color. As the substrate travels through the press, the rotating plates continually dip in ink and press the ink onto the material being printed.
Our in-house quality engineers and art department ensure your product is produced correctly and on time, and our UL registration and SGS certification give you peace of mind.
Flexography is a versatile print method and is very cost-efficient when used for higher volume, unchanging print. Because of its speed, flexography can produce labels and printed parts in a very cost-efficient manner compared to other print methods. Flexography also allows for a wide variety of substrate materials that other methods may not accommodate.
At Thomco, we print up to 8 colors on our flexo presses. We know precision color matching matters, which is why our quality controls are top-notch and verified through our UL registration and SGS certification. You can choose from pantone color match or 4-color process - and don't worry, if you aren't sure which color method is best, our experts will evaluate your art file and make the recommendation that best suits your labels.
Finishing refers to the cutting and coating or laminating of your labels after the print is done. These coatings and laminates protect the ink from scuffing and scratching. Our flexo presses combine print and finishing all in-line to eliminate multiple steps and save you money. For most labels, a UV varnish is enough protection. For labels that will be used in high stress environments, an overlaminate may be best. No matter your needs, Thomco has the finishing capabilities to protect your label for a lifetime.
Do you need thousands of labels or printed parts and not hundreds? Does your print remain static (i.e. no variable data)? Does your artwork have 8 colors or less? If you answered yes, flexographic printing at Thomco is a great option. If not, check out our other print methods to see if they are a fit for your project, or, just ask us.
